Lauren Gregory
Brooklyn-based, Tennessee-raised painter/animator/music video director Lauren Gregory's work has been described as primal; drawing from the vocabulary of early human cave paintings, her portraiture has at times incorporated faux-fur and human hair, and is always done with her fingers. In her work, she pulls from a bloodline of southern women painters before her.

Since studying under David Voros at the University of South Carolina and receiving her MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Gregory's works in oil have expanded to multimedia formats; from "Poppin' Bottles" for MOCATV, to playdough-animated "That Girl" at the New Museum, to her recent animation and directorial work on Toro y Moi's video for the song "Rose Quartz." Lauren Gregory lives and works in New York City.
